Heart in the City
The Heart in the City Awards are designed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals, non-profit societies, community groups and businesses who are promoting the social well-being of Surrey residents.
The nomination process is simple and it is a great way to recognize those in the community who make Surrey a great place to live!
1. Reducing Poverty

This award recognizes an individual or organization working to improve the quality of life for vulnerable and marginalized populations in Surrey. Some examples include (but are not limited to): efforts to address homelessness, assisting refugees or other vulnerable population groups, or increasing food security for low-income families.
2. Strengthening Community
This award recognizes an individual or organization that is working to create a strong community through fostering a sense of belonging, promoting healthy community development and/or supporting inclusive and cohesive communities. Some examples include (but are not limited to): implemented a neighbourhood project, a program that improves the health and well-being of the community and its residents or an initiative that fosters collaboration throughout the community.
